Mecc Alte launches inverter range for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integration as part of its Power Subcomponent kits.

Mecc Alte has introduced a new range of inverters and power conversion components designed for building Power Conversion Systems (PCS) for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), available as the Inverter ONE component kit. The range expands the company's component offering beyond alternators, controllers, battery chargers, and governors into energy storage and management, providing OEMs with a pre-matched sub-system rather than individual components to source separately.

The range centres on the MP series of inverters, available from 40kW to 250kW and parallelable up to 2MW, paired with the BESS200 controller. Together as the Inverter ONE, they provide the core components needed for efficient energy storage and distribution, covering everything from power conversion and battery management through to grid synchronisation and blackout protection.

The BESS200 controller monitors the battery's Battery Management System (BMS) continuously, managing charging and discharging, synchronising with live grid connections, and operating independently in the event of a grid outage, with black start capability when required. The controller also supports peak shaving and load demand management and coordinates directly with renewable energy controllers, mains controllers, and genset controllers through dedicated CANbus communication.

Practical applications include construction sites, where stored energy can cover daytime equipment peaks without oversized generators running continuously, and remote telecoms installations, where the system can manage renewable energy storage to keep infrastructure running through periods of low or no generation.

The MP inverter range is compatible with a variety of battery voltages and technologies, from 400V to 800V, and supports both off-grid and grid-connected configurations. The system is scalable and designed for OEM integration, with Mecc Alte providing engineering support across both PCS design and full system integration.

As with Mecc Alte's broader component range, the Inverter ONE is designed to be integrated into OEM power systems rather than sold as a complete end-user product, in keeping with the company's position as an independent component partner rather than a competitor in the end market.
