Mecc Alte introduces the T-Type totally enclosed alternator range

Conventional alternators rely on open ventilation for cooling. In heavy-duty construction environments, that same airflow draws in fine particles, abrasive dust, and moisture, which accumulate over time and contribute to insulation stress, accelerated wear, and unplanned downtime. Whereas the T-Type is built around a totally enclosed, brushless synchronous design that physically isolates active components from the external environment, preventing ingress at the source. 

Standard IP54 protection, with options up to IP67, allows the machine to operate where direct water spray, washdown, or high particulate exposure are part of daily operation. The design is supported by a heavy-duty aluminium frame, high-integrity shaft, and Class H insulation system. Thermal performance is managed through optimised frame sizing, ensuring long-term stability where reduced airflow is a necessary trade-off for contamination resistance. With a broad power range, the T-Type is suited to a number of heavy-duty applications where environmental protection is a primary consideration.
