Una storia di affidabile successo
350 type ECN34 LC/4 50kVA 3ph alternators were supplied to a prestigious rail customer between 1998 and 2002 for fitting on the class 170 Turbostar diesel rail vehicle. The alternator is hydrostatically driven to provide auxiliary electrical power in the carriages for battery charging, air conditioning and lighting. Alternator units are IP56 totally enclosed, and assembled under the main cars.
Mecc Alte started an overhaul programme, commencing in September 2003 when we first received a unit back into the workshop for a full overhaul. Regular technical inspection are made by Mecc Alte technical experts, refurbishing and monitoring all the vital parts of the generator to ensure its continuous operation under harsh conditions.
The latest returned unit (June 2012), has recorded 50500 hours running recorded since the last time the hour meter had been re-set. This machine is currently fitted to Turbostar fleet vehicle 170273. The unit has now achieved a total running hours of 80479 which now represents an alternator life equivalent of being in service for approximately 13 years. This is a testament to the quality of the Mecc Alte product and the effectiveness of preventative maintenance agreements.
So the big question is should we now re-phrase our motto from "Totally Focused, Totally independent" into " Totally Focused, Totally Reliable"?
