25th April 2012: a day to remember...
The 25th of April marked a red letter day for Mecc Alte's China operation, and a proud day for the whole of the Mecc Alte Group.
We announced in February that, following the very good reception of the premium Meccalte products both in China and in export markets, we had started the next phase of construction at our plant in Haimen, Jiangsu, China, adding another 4000 sq.m of productive floorspace.
This new expansion has been completed in record time, and on the 23rd April we were able to perform the opening ceremony, attended by the Mayor of Haimen and other representatives of government, and, very importantly, by a large body of customers, drawn not only from China but also from the USA, Italy, UK, Germany, Spain, France, India, Singapore, Australia and Japan - some of the major areas of the world served by Mecc Alte's sales and service distribution. We were delighted to welcome all our guests to this happy occasion.
The new facilities will not only allow higher production of the previous product range, from 7.5 to 865 kVA, but also enable us to invest in yet further expansion of the range of products made. We have now added our largest machines, the ECO 43 and ECO 46, which means that Mecc Alte China now produces the widest product range available from any of our factories outside our home country of Italy, with powers from 7.5 kVA to 3,000 kVA. This new investment shows Mecc Alte's commitment to advance its position as a worldwide manufacturer, able to support its customers from manufacturing and distribution facilities right across the globe.
Right from its first production in 2008, Mecc Alte had always planned for stage-by-stage expansion of the business, and it is most encouraging to see that Phase 2 has come so soon after Mecc Alte China began its full operations.
